Found a pet

You found an animal. Thank you. Here is what to do.

For anyone who has found a lost animal or seen one that seems out of place. You don’t need an account to help.

If the animal is in your care

Keep them somewhere safe, quiet and separate from your own animals. Offer water. Use the “Found an Animal” option on LnF Pet only if the animal is currently with you.

If you only saw them

Use “Spotted an Animal”. You don’t need to know whether it is lost; just share what you saw, where and when. A sighting can be exactly what a searching family needs.

Check for a microchip

Any vet clinic or shelter can scan for a microchip, usually free of charge. If the animal wears a tag, a urSmartID tag can be scanned with a phone and shows a finder how to reach the family without revealing their identity.

Report it

Describe the animal: species, size, colour, breed if you can tell, and where you found them. No account, no forms beyond what matters. You can also check for open lost reports near you.
